About Julie Reece

Julie Reece Tours specialises in providing customised tours of the European World War 1 battlefields through the Connecting Spirits Community Tours.

Julie Reece is a retired teacher with 36 years teaching experience. She majored in teaching senior Australian History specialising in World War 1 and led many commemorative school tours to Europe, exploring World War 1 battlefields, cemeteries and memorials of France and Belgium.

Julie has published three books on her WW1 research and commemorative journeys: 'Journey of Remembrance' (2002), ' Connecting Spirits' (2007) and ' Jimmy's Anzac Pilgrimage' (2013).

Her ongoing project/tour Connecting Spirits resulted in Julie being awarded a Community Individual award for the Hills and Coastal region by Advantage SA. Originally a DECD project it has now morphed into the Connecting Spirits Community Tour open to all interested in the Great War and commemorating our war dead. Julie Reece also ran tours with friend and colleague Ms Rosa Matto taking clients to Rosa's family's homeland of Italy. The Bella Italia tours were guided and hosted by Rosa during 2017 and 2018. Julie's new venture is Rural Tuscany as previously featured on the TOURS link.

Julie is married, has two sons and 6 grandchildren and looks forward to planning your next European tour.
